Name: shama
Gender: Female
Relation: Taken
Hometown: London
Current City: Hampstead, London
Interests and Hobbies: Strangely, I seem to have bizarre interests....I blame my father. I love watching sports like cricket, F1 and snooker. I don't really keep up with it all anymore...not really lady like is it?! I do adore art, I always wanted to pursue an art career...but Arts were not a favourable choice of career in my family. My legal life took charge and I just followed. Allhumdullilah.
Favorite Movies/Shows: I recently watched the Lake House...a real soppy love/mystery kind of watch. I love the ol-classics - Untouchables, The Message.. Golly this is really hard...I love loads of films
Favorite Music: Not really Islamic. Allah forgive me...but in brief moments of weakness when Shaytaan gets the better of me ...it has to be the Usher, Ne-yo, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys albums I turn to. Re: oldey goldey....I love Yusuf Islams new and old stuff. His material when he was Cat Stevens is very much Islam....it appears he had the muslim vibe from the onset.
Favorite Books: I used to read alot, anything and everything...but I rarely get a chance to snuggle into a comfy armchair with my nose in a book. I am currently off fiction and lardy dah books and read the books I have purchased over the years on Islam. I will report back after completion...this may take some months. Anxious response readers need not wait - I read half a chapter every couples of days, between errands.
About Me:
I am thirty years old. I was, in a previous life, a criminal lawyer...I practised for roughly 4 years...but I am now married and a housewife/mother. I have 3 children. Ummmm. Ok. Now I'm concerned. I have summed up my life in a measly three brief sentences. What else? I live in a area which is predominantly Jewish. This is particularly disheartening in London which is truthfully, pretty multicultural -so it gets a bit lonely faith-wise. There is no one (in a nut shell) like me here! I want to learn/share more about Islam in real, everyday terms....I now am in a position where I have to teach my children. Children have to have strong iman. Its vital.
